I could have written this post about m...Oh my word. I could have written this post about my 2 year old Ethan. I always thought the "terrible twos" was a joke, because neither Cherith or Daryn went through such drastic, dramatic issues.

I too feel so guilty at not being able to spend time with the other kids, especially my second, very sensitive one. I spend my every waking moment "training" Ethan in some way. I turn my back to help someone else and he's off into trouble... such as climbing on top of the washing machine and opening all the cleaning bottles in the cabinet above, or climbing onto the kitchen counter to dump salt, or finding the Desitin (no matter where I hide it) and smear it on as many objects and walls in the house that he can.

Staying in bed... just hardly happens. The ignoring... just maddening.

Discipline does nothing. The only thing I have found that helps is a good, sunny day. If he can spend lots of time in the sunshine, he is a complete angel.

I am thinking that the winter blues really does have an effect on my children. The lack of sunshine and fresh air leaves Cherith feeling sour mooded. Daryn turns extremely meloncholoy to the point that I get worried. Ethan gets bored, moody, and into trouble.

Im hoping spring and therefore many hours outdoors will help redirect Ethan as he works through this stage, so that hopefully by the time next fall comes he'll be more "grown up".Brennershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17781481260530559553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-669148318613521650.post-58575617222238524312011-02-20T20:30:40.705-06:002011-02-20T20:30:40.705-06:00Happy Birthday! I thought I'd eventually get used to the idea of bein in my 30s... but I just haven't. I still feel so old when I stop and think about my age. I mean seriously, it's like you're young and still growing up until you hit 30. Then there's not platuea... it's just downhill from there. You're just plain old. lol.

And when I think abou the fact that I have four kids that are MY OWN, I just feel incredibly... well, like an adult. Like I'm in the "uncool cause you're just a middle aged mom" group. Sigh.

I'm prasing God with you for your strong marriage. You may have noticed I have eluded to a very painful time about 2 years ago... that was due to a huge "trip and fall" in our marriage. We can only contribute our great marriage now to God's sovereignty and love. Only He can bring such repentence, forgiveness, and healing.Brennershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17781481260530559553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-669148318613521650.post-74130563803560152262011-01-14T22:38:06.902-06:002011-01-14T22:38:06.902-06:00Thanks Ladies! I am also a friend of Misty Jassey's, and she directed me here. I'm an RN, and I work at a crisis pregnancy clinic. I have such a heart to tell girls the truth about all their options. Yes, in addition to talking with them about parenting and adoption, I'll tell them whatever they want to know about abortion, even though it's not what I want them to choose. The world has sold young women such lies, telling them that abortion is the "easy way out." Nope. It's just not true, and your story is such a vivid reminder of that. But, more that that, your story is a beautiful love story between your Savior and yourself. How amazing it was to read how He spoke Truth right into your heart. So often, I, as a Christian, like to think that He needs *me* for that process of witnessing to the unsaved -- when really, I should do it as an act of love and obedience, not because He can't manage without me). I LOVED how you said that He chased you down! Oh, what LOVE HE has for us! And you're right: He can use everything in our lives for His eternal purposes, even when we've made a mess of things (and we ALL have!). Thank you for this encouraging story of grace and redemption.Angelanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-669148318613521650.post-59685796924921096362010-08-11T16:07:57.934-05:002010-08-11T16:07:57.934-05:00Reagan, what a beautiful reminder of God's gra...Reagan, what a beautiful reminder of God's grace and hand in all things.
